Two teenage girls (Robin Johnson and Trini Alvarado) escape from the hospital where they were submitted for psychiatric testing and begin a new life together against he colorful urban backdrop of Times Square. Butch tough talking Nicky and timid but intelligent Pammy set up a makeshift home amidst the trash of an abandoned warehouse. They put together a renegade rock band becoming a heroic inspiration to frustrated teenage girls. Tim Curry portrays their pail Johnny the dejay who provides a fantastic soundtrack to this true romance: Talking Heads, Patti Smith Group, Pretenders, Roxy Music, Lou Reed, The Ramones, XTC, The Cure, etc. A precursor of Thelma and Louise, where boys are simply not part of the Romantic Picture.
