Dialogs is a series that allows artists to present their own films and videos in dialog with works that have influenced them, that have resonated for some time and might open up connections for the audience that nobody else might have imagined.

This installment features the films of Paula Froehle, with Chris Marker?s classic La Jette, and selected readings of poetry, literature and Japanese Haiku which Paula considers significant influence on her films, including excerpts of works by Anne Sexton, Robbe-Grillet, Louse Gluck, and Clarice Lispector. In addition to her previous experimental an d personal narratives, Second Skin (16 min, 1991) and Spitting Image (3 min., 1992), Paula will premiere her newest work, Flicker (Unsteady Motion) (8min., 1994) and exploration of history, memory and loss in relation to a man and a woman and the cyclical nature of life. ?the examination of fluctuating boundaries between individuals is something I have been interested in all my film work.?(PF)
