Described as a curious informal non-aligned leftist songwriter night which has previously featured miniature truck racing, labor recruitment drive, anarcho-illusionists, Big Dubby DJs, 18 second political speeches, worth collections and whisky tasting.

This evening?s ?monsters? include: Sally Timms with Fred Armisen and his machines; Jon Langford, Dean Schlabowske, Bob Kendal and Spunky.

Sally Timms, lead singer of the Mekons, plays a rare solo show tonight previewing new material. The Waco Brothers? songwriters combine for an acoustic thrashing of new material and dark country covers. They?re just recovering from their first major US tour supporting their new CD Cowboy In flames. ?A brilliant band,? according to BILLBOARD, and ?the Flagship of Insurgent Country,? says the East Bay Guardian. Proceeds from tonight?s stupid competitive games are for the Journal of Ordinary Thought.
