The bilingual anthology, Shards of Light/Astillas de Luz, an anthology of Chicago Latino writers featuring the work of twenty poets whose origins are in Spanish-speaking countries such as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Honduras, Chile, Argentina, and Cuba.

The bilingual anthology, Shards of Light/Astillas de Luz, an anthology of Chicago Latino writers featuring the work of twenty poets whose origins are in Spanish-speaking countries such as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Honduras, Chile, Argentina, and Cuba. The anthology also includes work by United States citizens whose parents came from Spain or Latin America. It is edited by Olivia Maciel. Side-by-side Spanish and English versions of the poems are provided.

Writer, poet, painter, and printmaker Carlos Cortez Koyokuikatl has had national and international exposure. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, his main residence is Chicago. Publisher and writer Carlos Cumpian is the author of Coyote Sun (March Abrazo Press) and Latino Rainbow, and Armadillo Charm (Tia Chucha Press).

Born in Puerto Rico, David Hernandez is a writer, poet, teacher, and performer of music. He is the founder of Street Sounds. His books include Rooftop Piper (Tia Chucha Press) and Elvis is Dead but at Least He?s Not Gaining Anymore Weight (Mary Kuntz Press).

Orlando Ricardo Menes is a Cuban American writer whose poems and translations have appeared in the Indiana Review, The Antioch Review, Chelsea, and The Seneca Review. He received a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from the University of Illinois.

Jorge J. Rodriguez-Florido was born in Manzanillo Cuba. He holds a M.S. in Mathimatics from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He teaches at Northeastern University.

Mexican-American writer Raul Nino is the author of Breathing Light, and collection of poems. He resides in Chicago, has written numerous book reviews for Book List, the trade magazine for the American Library Association.
