Poet Mark Turcotte, author of The Feathered Heart (Michigan State University Press, revised edition), returns to Chicago for this special encore collaboration.

Most recently, he is the recipient of a national Writer?s Voice Community Residence Award. Winner of the First Gwendolyn Brooks Open Mic Award (1993), he has completed a collection of poetry Songs of Our Ancestors for Children? Press. After a number of years performing with some fine jazz players, bassist Mitar Mitch Covic turned his attention to composing musical settings for performance poets which resulted in an eight-year stint a musical director of the poetry/music ensemble David Hernandez and Street Sounds. His work with three different poets is represented in a 1995 spoken-word CD ?Snake in the Heart? (Tia Chucha)
