Isotope features Jeff Parker on guitar, Sara Smith on trombone, Rob Mazurek on cornet, Matt Lux on bass, Dan Bitney on drums and Johnny Herndon on drums.

It?s hard to say exactly what this band is because of the diverse influences of the participants. One might say an eclectic avant-funk ensemble dedicated to the phono metric system of universal thought. But one might also say a free heeling transmolecular unit dedicated to the betterment of all worlds. Parker, Smith and Mazurek also play in the Chicago Underground Orchestra. Bitney and Herndon are members of the group tortoise and Lux can also be heard with the Chilled Martini's.
