New Orleans Filmmaker and Firefighter Jason Affolder takes his first feature length movie SUN DOGS on the road…1st stop Chicago at Chopin Theatre.

Down in Post-Katrina New Orleans, a drunkard plasma donor who mentors a teenage troublemaker begins romancing a reckless art school dropout he meets while singing karaoke.

Sun Dogs is a movie about blood, booze, fireworks, goldfish, strange atmospheric phenomena, and a geodesic dome.


About the Film - Jason Affolder originally conceived of Sun Dogs while teaching at a public high school in Louisiana. Only years later, through a conspiracy of natural disaster, personal injury, and involuntary public funding,was the movie finally manufactured.

The project was financed by money Jason earned working as a firefighter during Hurricane Katrina, produced while he was on injury leave recovering from a broken hand, and edited after his return to duty at various fire stations throughout New Orleans (between interruptions by the occasional conflagration, automobile accident, or gunshot victim).
