What is politically newsworthy and how do political writers shape those stories? We've gone to the source for this evening's discussion. Eric Zorn began at the Chicago Tribune in the summer of 1980. After five years as a feature writer and radio columnist in the Tempo section he moved to the metropolitan news staff, where in Late 1986, he became a news-feature coLumnist. His self-titled column runs Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday on the front of the metro section. He is „ co-author of the 1990 book Murder of Innocence, an exploration of the life and tragic rampage of Winnetka schoolhouse killer Laurie Dann. He, his wife Johanna?executive producer of the Third Coast Festival?and their three children live on the city's Northwest Side. We have invitations out to reporters and columnists from the Chicago Defender, the Daily Southtown and other media outlets to get a broader perspective on how political writing is defined from communityto community.
